The Colintraive and Glendaruel Area is an excellent base for touring.The following places are just some easy day tours from here:

Tighnabruaich
Less than 30 minutes away, the village pier is the setting-out point for weekly cruises aboard the last sea going paddle steamer the PS Waverley - return cruises on Loch Fyne or a short cruise through the Kyles of Bute. Spectacular views of the Kyles of Bute on the road over to the village.
Dunoon
Situated on the River Clyde, this is the main shopping centre for the area with a swimming pool, cinema, historical museum and just on the outskirts Benmore Botanic Gardens, well worth a visit for garden lovers.
Rothesay - Isle of Bute
Cross by the ferry at Colintraive to take a tour of Bute. Stroll along the seafront gardens in Rothesay and do a bit of shopping or visit the grandeur of Mount Stuart, ancestral home to the Marquess of Bute, brought into the spotlight in recent years as the location for Stella McCartney’s wedding.
Tarbert - Loch Fyne
Take the ferry from Portavadie to Tarbert, a lovely wee fishing village on the shores of Loch Fyne with a few cafes and galleries with local arts and crafts, then a choice of return either by ferry or by road.
Inveraray
The Royal Burgh on the shores of Loch Fyne, known as the Gateway to Argyll, the town has some interesting tourist attractions including Inveraray Castle, Inveraray Jail and the Maritime Museum, Bell Tower and Puffer trips on Loch Fyne.
